Beauty Nine to Five - Beauty Jobs in Canada

If one thing’s for certain, good things should always be shared, especially when it comes to the beauty industry. Because we understand how overwhelming the beauty industry can be with new brands popping up every other week, making it hard to keep up with all the latest beauty trends. Not to mention all the new brands. While we all have our favorite and trusted brands that we love, the magic of the beauty world is definitely discovering new brands to add to our beauty arsenals. Want to try some new brands but don’t know where to begin? We’ve shared some of our latest discoveries and their best products to try.

Fenty Beauty
Let’s start with the most obvious one. If you haven’t been living under a rock these past few weeks, then you’ve absolutely heard that Rihanna launched her own beauty collection sold exclusively at Sephora. It’s honestly surprising that the images from the collection didn’t leak before the big reveal, especially considering the Fenty buzz that started a few months ago when the singer announced the new collection on social media. The big reveal was that the collection comes in a range of 40 shades of foundations and the must-try product is easily the golden tone highlighter in Trophy Wife.

You might remember Emily Weiss from her days on The Hills, but following the show, she quickly made climbed the ranks as a beauty blogger with her blog Into The Gloss, which launched as a mega brand in 2014. Since launching, Glossier has gone viral and made all the beauty junkies fall in love with the cool skincare collection that features clean products in user-friendly packaging.  The must-try product is definitely the Milky Jelly Cleanser.

Kokie Cosmetics
This line was surprisingly created by Wallmart and has seriously stepped up the drugstore beauty game. The chain has created a full collection of affordable makeup that works incredibly well. Unfortunately, it’s not available in Canada yet but if you have a trip set to the US anytime soon, it’s definitely worth checking out. We recommend trying the Volume and Length Mascara.

RMS Beauty
Okay, RMS isn’t necessarily a new brand but it’s new to Sephora. This natural beauty brand was first sold at Detox Market only as a Canadian brand from Vancouver. The founder discovered she had health issues caused by some components found in makeup products, and then she had the idea of creating an organic brand that does not contain any toxic components and was a huge success among Hollywood stars. The must-try product is the Living Luminizer.

Blinking Beaute
For the ladies that love rocking dramatic looks, no look is complete without beautiful lashes. This is exactly what Blinking Beaute had in mind when they created beautiful falsies that go from day to night. We know that lashes aren’t something we wear every day, but certainly, they give your look the drama it needs. We recommend trying the Premier Silk Collection Ingénue.

Have you tried any new brands that you can’t get enough of? Let us know in the comments below.

Beauty Jobs – RMS Feature

Beauty Nine to Five - Beauty Jobs1

Natural skincare and makeup products are hard to come by. RMS beauty has made the switch to natural beauty an easy choice.  Founded by makeup artist Rose-Marie Swift, the line focuses on providing excellent quality cosmetics that are almost entirely organic.

Swift, a long time makeup artist, began experiencing health issues that were both physically and mentally grueling.  After consulting with many doctors, it was found that her blood contained high levels of toxins, specifically aluminum, barium, cadmium, lead and mercury, which doctors attributed primarily to her on going work in the cosmetics industry.  For the past 20 years, Swift has been an advocate for the desistence of chemicals in makeup and skincare.

Swift’s range, RMS Beauty, is completely free of “harmful chemicals”, and also provides skincare proprieties making the cosmetics not only safe to use, but beneficial as well.  In order to accomplish this goal, RMS Beauty only uses the highest quality raw ingredients, such as coconut oil, cocoa butter, bees wax, and jojaba oil, all of which are certified organic, as well as many others.  And unlike other cosmetic companies, which over process organic ingredients, rendering their benefits redundant, RMS Beauty uses ingredients from their raw state, and puts them directly in their products.  They also refrain from using high temperatures that can deplete the nutrients.  A full list of their ingredients can be found here.

Swift is passionate about teaching others, and has also created a website called Beauty Truth, which focuses on providing the most up to date information of ingredients and simple steps on how to change your skincare and makeup routine.

Beauty Jobs – Hydrating Body and Facial Oils to Soothe Winter Skin

Beauty Nine to Five - Beauty JobsInspiration Image

With the winter months being so excruciatingly cold, our skin tends to get a lot drier due to the lack of moisture. You might find not only your face is peeling, but your body as well. A good way to combat this skin concern is to utilize hydrating oils on the skin. This would include both facial oils and body oils. There are a lot out in the market today and are excellent in giving that necessary boost of moisture back into the skin.

Here are my top recommendations for facial oils and body oils!

Facial Oils

1. RMS Beauty – Beauty Oil, $75, available at Kiss and Makeup

If you are searching for a highly potent multi-purpose facial oil that contains certified organic and simple ingredients…this one is definitely for you! It contains Buriti oil, which has been found to actually filter and absorb harmful UV rays! Not only is it extremely moisturizing, but it also helps to protect the skin from pollutants, helps to bring a radiant glow back into the skin and delays signs of aging.

2. Fresh Seaberry Moisturizing Face Oil, $63, available at Sephora

If you want to look for a soothing facial oil that helps to combat redness and aging, this one is for you! This product contains high amounts of omegas that help to build the skin’s natural lipid layer. This helps the skin protect itself from free radicals and retain moisture better. This oil is also extremely lightweight and contains 100% pure seabuckthron oil, which helps to boost vitality.

3. L’Occitane Almond Smoothing and Beautifying Supple Skin Oil, $52, available at Sephora

This lightweight body oil contains more than 50% pure almond oil that helps to soften, moisturize and firm the skin. It leaves a satin-y finish to the skin and is rich in omegas! It comes in a convenient spray bottle that lets you easily apply the product onto the skin. It also smells heavenly and does not leave a greasy touch to the skin!

4. The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Beautifying Oil, $15, available at The Body Shop

This beautifying body oil is everything you want in a bottle. It contains a blend of nut oils that gives a high boost of hydration to the skin. It leaves a slight shimmering finish to the skin and leaves it smelling like sweet cocoa all day long. This oil can also be used on the face and hair, making it the ultimate multi-purpose product!
