Beauty Jobs – Getting to Know Plant Powered Brand Graydon Skincare

Wednesday, August 9th, 2017

Natural skincare isn’t just a fleeting summer beauty trend — going green is a conscious, lasting movement that’s here to stay. Enter Graydon Skincare, a homegrown brand that’s on a mission to make luxurious, plant powered products the golden standard. Masterminded by health enthusiast Graydon (yes, that’s her name!), this super aesthetic skincare line has been featured in major publications like The Kit, Best Health, and ELLE Canada.

BNTF loves how much insight Graydon provides for each and every product: full ingredient list, how to use each one and what they pair best with. Read on to learn more about the five standout products in the collection and why we’re obsessed!

Pre-Cleansing Makeup + Grime Remover

The Keto Cleanse immediately caught our attention due to flashbacks of the diet of the same name. On a serious note, if you’re a fan of the oil-cleansing method you’ll want to check this out. The Keto Cleanse is a straight forward mix of oils and ghee that work together to break down old makeup and grime from the skin’s surface. The difference between this and other pre-cleanse oils on the market is the three item ingredient list!

Green Cream for a Cause

Imagine being able to feed your face a huge, nutritious green salad — that’s the concept behind The Green Cream. Jam packed with oils of broccoli, avocado, parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme this chlorophyll based moisturizer stimulates the lymphatic system to detoxify pores. Also, $5 of every purchase goes towards the Canadian Breast Cancer Support Fund.

Super Sensitive Skin Stuff

Do you have oily skin that gets irritated by just about everything and anything? We know it can be a challenge to find a product that provides ideal moisturization without any potentially havoc-wreaking extras. Graydon’s Super Sensitive Skin Stuff is a lightweight moisturizer made with Canadian Maple Water that nourishes without leaving behind the sticky residue you might expect.

Cool Face Cleansing Tool

Most of us stick to wash cloths or powered brush heads for an extra deep clean. Graydon Skincare offers a 100% plant sourced alternative with their Bamboo Charcoal Sponge. As the name suggests, bamboo and charcoal are infused into a sponge made of ground konjac root. If your interest is piqued as much as ours was, watch the YouTube tutorial here.

Tinted Primer + Illuminator

As BNTFers, we’re constantly on the hunt for the most ethereal glow possible, and if it’s plant based, it’s even better! Nutrient-rich Face Glow, including raspberry, pumpkin and shea butter extracts, is the versatile tinted primer + illuminator combo you need. Fair to medium skin tones can wear this under foundation for a subtle shimmery and skin blurring effect. Dark to deep complexions can dab this onto high points of the face as a highlighter.

Montreal Beauty Jobs – Barely There Makeup

Friday, April 5th, 2013

This season, my motto is “bare is better” when it comes to beauty. The neutral look has been seen all over the runways and is a trend that can take you from day to night.

Skin
To achieve sheer beauty you have to go skin deep, and that means finding the perfect moisturizer, primer, and foundation. Now I know what you’re thinking: that’s a lot of product to be wearing in the heat. So skip the 3 step routine and substitute with the perfect BB cream or tinted moisturizer. For great coverage with a matte finish, try Smashbox Camera Ready BB Cream SPF 35 ($39, available at Sephora). The multitasking formula moisturizes while controlling your skins natural oils and contains SPF to protect against the suns harsh rays. If you’re looking for a more lightweight product, try Laura Mercier’s Tinted Illumination tinted moisturizer to give your skin a dewy fresh glow. And instead of caking on heavy powder, finish off with a lightweight translucent powder.

Eyes
Soft neutral shadows are a staple for spring, that being said, so is the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette ($50, available at Sephora). Containing 12 shimmering shades, you can achieve a subtle day look, a smoky night out look and everything in between. After applying your shadows, smudge a soft brown pencil liner only on your upper lash line. Curl your lashes and apply a volumizing mascara, pulling your lashes outward to open up your eyes.

Lips
I like to see a neutral eye paired with shades of soft pinks or taupe on the lips. A sheer lipstick or gloss is a perfect compliment to a natural makeup look and is flattering on every skin tone while looking youthful and fresh. Find a tube you love like the Nars Satin Lipstick in Honolulu Honey ($26, available at Sephora) and never leave home without it this spring.

Nails
If you’re like me, your nail colour will change according to your outfit. Such a hassle trying to match! So, go nude and you cant go wrong. I’ve been loving the OPI ‘My Vampire is Buff’ polish for that perfect soft colour with a bit of sparkle.

Now that you’ve got all your “bare essentials” you’re ready for spring!
