•Responsible for updating the content on The Shopping Channel Web sites, specifically eBeauty.ca.
•Within established timelines, write, edit and proofread feature content for the Web site to direct market products in a rich media context.
•Within established timelines, write, edit and proofread backbone content of Web site and update on a daily and weekly basis.
•Brainstorm with the Web site team to develop new concepts, original content and promotional activities.
•Work with Graphic Design and Programming groups to implement feature content projects.
•Develop, write, edit and proofread direct email newsletters to provide content to opt in customers with a view to direct selling product.
•Within established timelines, write, edit and proofread enticing original database product copy for items sold on the Web site by describing features and benefits of the merchandise for "feature" items and by writing succinct product copy with merchandise descriptions for "regular" items.
•Ensure the integrity of the concepts and the content of the Web site including content quality assurance (e.g. all hypertext links are functioning at all times).
•Liaise with Merchandise Managers, Associates, Assistants and Programming Department to ensure that Web site content is accurate and complete.
•Establish and create editorial guidelines and develop project plans for the maintenance of fully developed sites.
•Other duties as required.
•A college or university degree in a related discipline.
•Retail experience and a passion for consumer goods - preferably prior experience in the Health & Beauty environment.
•Proven ability to communicate in quality English language, either verbal or written.
•Good editorial judgment and grammar skills.
•Excellent creative and conceptual development skills.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Strong knowledge of the Internet, MS Word, Excel, Internet Explorer and Outlook.
•Working Knowledge of HTML of an HTML WYSYWIG editor, like FrontPage and DreamWeaver.
•Experience and/or passion for the Beauty industry is preferred.
The selected candidate is required to provide two business references as well as successfully complete a criminal background check.
