Job purpose:

The Marketing Manager is responsible for developing consumer focused marketing programs with superior leadership, creative, analytical, negotiating and communication skills. Dedicated and self-motivated to uphold the brand values and strength in relationship building.

The Marketing Manager will be responsible for all Marketing initiatives related to the following brands: Shiseido, Cle de Peau Beaute and ReVive.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

Develop Marketing and Support Programs

Liase with the Tokyo head office and New York Regional head office for seasonal marketing initiatives and reporting
Develop Canadian launch plans by retailer and forecast new products and support materials
Oversee the creation of locally produced or sourced support items
Report post analysis of launch results with competitive market overview
Together with the marketing team, develop compelling promotional sets and gift programs by sourcing bags and boxes and forecast components. Oversee the BOM assembly process. Create display materials and handouts to support the program
Develop impactful Special Events to create excitement and consumer engagement
Present seasonal programs to retailers and partner for special initiatives
Manage Advertising and Communication Plan

Manage the advertising agency to effectively communicate programs with high ROI
Ensure creative is provided to the agency
Direct the agency to modify plans to maximize online responses
Develop consumer communication with Shiseido online database
Support Public Relations initiatives and special projects
Partnership with Digital Marketing Team

Support the Digital Marketing team to develop strategies for each retailer to create compelling online programs and communication
Oversee each retailer ecommerce platform update of new products and timely promotional communication
Manage Merchandising plans

Set seasonal catalogue introductions and discontinuation list
Upon approved timing of each retailer seasonal planograms by the National Account Manager, create visual merchandising updates to support the planogram
Guide cassette development by Sales Administration team
Together with the Sales Administration team, develop and maintain tester units
Create, forecast and maintain promotional display units
Produce new store support materials to meet retailer guidelines
Financial Planning and Accountability

Formulate short and long term business plans including net sales, retail sales and budgets for assigned brands and channels
Achieve retail and net sales targets of assigned brands for all channels by developing launch plans, promotional programs, events and drive basic business
Maximize profit contribution by increasing sales, managing expenses and negotiating with suppliers.
Market Share Analysis for key categories to develop programs to gain market share
Upholding the Shiseido Brand Values and Management Principles

Representing the brand image and upholding the brand standards in corporate and retail settings
Communicating the Shiseido story and corporate culture
Strong proactive, reactive and creative problem-solving abilities to evolve with market conditions
Manage and mentor the marketing team to uphold the brand values and create compelling programs
Work closely with the management team to execute marketing plans

Qualifications:

University Degree or College Diploma in Business related disciplines
Strong leadership, analytical, negotiating and organizational abilities
Minimum 5 years marketing management or sales management experience ideally in the cosmetic industry
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Bilingual (French/English) asset
Must be detail oriented, ability to multi-task and work under time pressures
Excellent Organizational skills
