Beauty Jobs – Winter Lip Care 101

Beauty Nine to Five - Beauty Jobs in Canada

We literally blinked and winter was practically here. And once the cold weather hits, one of the first parts of our body that suffers is our lips. Since the skin is super thin and sensitive, we have to make sure to give our lips the TLC it needs.  Between lip liners and lipsticks, here is how you can keep your lips ready for kisses under the mistletoe.

Lip Scrubs
Like any other part of your body, your lips have to be scrubbed once in a while. If you’re too lazy to remember this extra step in your makeup routine, leave the little container in the shower to give your lips a good scrub once a week. One of the most popular lip scrubs is from Lush, as it makes your lips super soft and actually tastes amazing! To get into Christmas mood, try the Santa Baby.

Lip Care
We love to use face masks and eye patches correct? Did you know that our lips have a designated product that works the same way? That’s right, lip patches are getting very popular for lip care. The My Collagen Hydrogel Lip Patch works as a collagen enhancer that helps soften and refresh the lips for lipstick application.

Lip Hydration
Last but definitely not least, this step is super important. Before applying your favourite lipstick, make sure to hydrate your lips so your festive red lipstick won’t look cracked. The Canadian brand Bite Beauty is getting everyone’s attention with the agave lip mask, which is similar to a balm and nourishes the lips leaving a perfect surface for lipstick application. The best part is it’s made with edible ingredients and keeps your lips healthy year-round.

Lip Hydrater
This salve is the thickest formula on our list and it’s perfect for piling on underneath and over lipstick to soften and hydrate chapped lips.  Plus it comes in a number of shades if you’re looking to add some colour to your lips.

Lip Saver
For when your lips are painfully chapped, this salve is a slightly thicker formula that hydrates and soothes the lips while still giving a glossy finish.
