Beauty Jobs – The New Nudes: Your Guide to Nude Lipstick

Beauty Jobs in Canada - Beauty Nine to Five

Nude lipstick is far from coming in just one shade. Today, you can find an infinite variety of shades, finishes, and textures — so regardless of your preference, there’s a nude lipstick for you. Luckily, the days of the original concealer-inspired lipsticks are behind us and the beauty industry saw the need to provide consumers with different nude options.

Not sure where to begin your nude journey? We’ve got you covered. We shared our favourite nude hues to guide you. Just remember, at the end of the day, nude lipsticks look different on everyone and every skin type can pull off countless different shades, it just requires a little trial and error to find which nudes work best. Consider this list a quick guide to help get you on your way to finding your nude lipstick match.

The Brown Nude

This variation is not so different from the traditional pale nude that we’re used to, except for it’s darker, sleeker and looks good on just about everyone because it doesn’t wash out the skin. Found in matte, sheer or glossy, the brown nude is the new universal shade that every ‘It’ girl should try. We love this Ciaté London matte lipstick as it provides you with gorgeous, long-wearing colour, making your lips appear fuller, supple and smooth.

The Pink Nude

If you’re looking for a playful and feminine nude that has a subtle touch of colour, then the pink hues are for you. Ideally made for those with fair and milky complexions, a pink nude adds a delicate pop of colour that’s perfect for all occasions. When working with a nude pink lip, we recommend rocking an understated eye to keep your look subtle and professional.

The Grey Nude

If you’re looking for something a bit bold, that doesn’t classify as going overboard, we recommend trying for a greyed nude, as it’ll add an edgier vibe to your makeup. This shade from MAC looks amazing on any skin tone and will leave you with a subtle pop of colour in a liquid-suede finish that will last all day.

The Traditional Nude

Last but not least, we had to mention the OG of nudes, even though we have so many options available we still have some space in our hearts for the classic nude. For those ‘no makeup’ days when you want to keep your look simple, a traditional nude hue, like this Porcelain Doll from Essence Makeup is the perfect shade to neutralize the lips without drawing too much attention.

The Blush Nude

If you’re looking for a high-impact nude that won’t leave your lips feeling dry or cakey, we highly recommend trying Toronto-based Bite Beauty’s Amuse Bouche lipstick in Meringue. This nude will leave your lips feeling moisturized, thanks to its soft texture and creamy wear that lasts for hours.
